Brendan Rodgers’ players turned to twitter to recognise their record breaking 27 match unbeaten run.
Today’s 4-0 win over Hearts took the current side beyond the 50 year old record held by the Lisbon Lions who came a cropper at Tannadice- losing 3-2 to Dundee United.
Celtic started their current run with a 2-1 win over Hearts at Tynecastle in August with 25 matches squeezed in before today.
Scott Sinclair scored the winner on his debut at Tynecastle and chipped in with a double today which restored Celtic’s 22 point lead at the top of the table.
Hearts were in the match until the 77th minute when Sinclair put Celtic 2-0 in front with Patrick Roberts and Sinclair completing the scoring.
Next up for Celtic is a visit from third placed Aberdeen on Wednesday night before they hit the road to meet St Johnstone on Sunday knowing that if they continue their winning run the title will be clinched in March.
