The High Court in Edinburgh was treated to more financial gymnastics today as those associated with Coral tried to justify not paying out on Rangers being relegated in 2012 without using the dreaded L word.

A number of representatives of the booky were questioned as they wriggled around trying to explain how a club and company which they claim to be the same can move from the SPL to the Third Division of Scottish football without being relegated.

Intrepid reporter James Doleman kept thousands amused and entertained as various excuses were put forward to explain why the booky had refused to pay out on a £100 bet thatwent into liquidation was priced at 2,500/1.

Corals were forced into a number of awkward moments rather than admit that the club that competed in the 2011/12 SPL went into liquidation during the summer and haven’t kicked a ball since- blowing apart the bizarre survival myth hatched in the months following the death of a so called institution.

Coral are in the process of merging with Ladbrokes, sponsor of the SPFL who share the same PR company as the cash strapped Ibrox tribute act.
