Joe Thomson hasn’t taken much time to adapt to life at Queen of the South.

The midfielder switched his Development Loan from Dumbarton to the Dumfries side and hasn’t looked back.

After scoring on his debut as Queens won 3-0 away to St Mirren he followed it up with another goal away to Dundee United on Saturday.

Dundee United took the lead in the fourth minute but Steven Dobbie equalised in the 28th minute.

Eight minutes into the second half Thomson anticipated a through ball, held off the attention of a United defender then shot past the approaching Cammy Bell to put the visitors in front

In the end Queens had to settle for a point but new boss Gary Naysmith won’t be too unhappy with four points from two away matches after a horror run of 13 matches without a win which led to his appointment.

Thomson faces the highly difficult task of trying to break through into the Celtic first team midfield but having proving himself in The Championship won’t do his career prospects any harm.
