Anthony Stokes appears to be on his way to join Polish side Jagiellonia Bialystok.

According to a report in The Sun the former Celtic striker is set to join the club until the end of the season from Blackburn Rovers with the Polish transfer window open until February 28.

Stokes was linked with a deadline day move to Hibs but despite a day of negotiations the clubs were unable to complete a deal.

The 28-year-old left Celtic at the end of last season in a deal sanctioned by Brendan Rodgers after Stokes had fallen foul of Ronny Deila.

Owen Coyle came in with the offer of a three year contract but Stokes has only started two matches in The Championship as Blackburn battle against relegation.

Despite his obvious talent Stokes has struggled to find the discipline needed to compliment his ability with managerial fall-outs a regular feature throughout his career.

Jagiellonia Bialystok are currently second in the Polish table, four points behind leaders Lech Gdansk.

Former Hamilton and Partick Thistle defender Ziggy Gordon recently joined Jagiellonia.
