Kenny Miller has urged Mark Warburton’s successor to hold onto the squad put together by the former city trader.

Two weeks after the departure of Warbo, Sevco seem no closer to getting a replacement as candidates make themselves busy for the weekend of March 11 and 12.

Barring any further disasters Graeme Murty will take Warbo’s squad to Celtic Park with few from Ibrox confident of halting the runaway leaders.

Warbo’s squad started the season bawling about #goingfor55 but are now looking over their shoulders at Hearts in the battle for third place.

Despite winning just 12 of their 25 top flight matches Miller is convinced that the next manager will inherit a squad bursting with talent!

What I can say is a major overhaul of a squad is never a recipe for success,” the former Vancouver Whitecaps goal ace told the Evening Times. “There is no way you can keep turning over eight, nine, ten players every summer and expecting to be successful.

You just need to look at successful teams. It is two, three, four or five at a push – and integrating them into an already existing and decent squad.”

With the company’s survival dependent on the generosity of the Three Bears it’s unlikely that the new management team will be handed a substantial war-chest for next season’s title challenge.

Only Miller, Clint Hill and Pip Senderos are out of contract meaning that the new messiah will have no option but to work with the squad that flopped for Warbo and has their work cut out to hold off Hearts for third place.
