Reluctant fall guy Graeme Murty has admitted that he doesn’t want to be in charge at Ibrox.

Murty was lured to Ibrox at the start of the season to replace Ian Durrant and bring about some stability and shape to the club’s disastrous Development League squad.

A solitary substitute appearance from Liam Burt has been the sole contribution to the first team this season with equally disastrous results on the pitch with eight wins from 22 matches.

With Mark Warburton and Davie Weir ousted by Dave King, Murty has been thrust into the limelight- very reluctantly.

Asked today if he would be applying for the manager’s job on a permanent basis Murt’s admitted: “I would doubt it.”

On Friday night the former Reading favourite will take charge against Inverness Caley Thistle with no real idea of how long he will be in charge.

“They have not put any timescale or any pressure on me,” Sky Sports reported Murts saying.

“The only communication I have had from all members of the board is: ‘Keep doing what you are doing, can we help you at all?’ So that’s been great.

“I’m grateful to be in the role and I will continue to fill this as well as I can in my tenure here.

“If it’s tomorrow that it changes, if it’s next week, whenever it is, I will just be continuing on and making sure I do the best for the players.

“I said before, it’s not about me, it’s about making sure the players have what they need.”
