Contrary to the beliefs of the deluded Chris Sutton has views on football way outside of Glasgow.
When he is employed by BT Sport for Scottish football matches of the Daily Record he expresses his opinions on Scottish football- discussing Zlatan Ibrahimovic wouldn’t really be appropriate.
With his outspoken views, sharing the thoughts that others won’t make public, Sutton is in demand across the board and is someone that football fans can identify with.
The majority of pundits, especially on the BBC, shy away from giving opinions as they protect friendships and look over their shoulder to protect future employment options.
With the Daily Mail Sutton’s views are highly rated with the former Celtic striker asked for his opinion on who has been the player of the season so far in the English game.
Not surprisingly Zlatan is the man for Sutton with the Manchester United striker driving forward Jose Mourinho’s Old Trafford master plan.
“Many doubters when he signed over his age and the usual arrogant people asking would he score in the EPL as anyone can score loads in France in recent times,” the former Celt said.
“He has been the biggest single influence on any team in the country. He is a leader and a superb role model to all the younger United players.
“On the pitch he has carried United at times single-handedly. He doesn’t lack confidence as we know but backs it up! He is the teams focal point and has driven this United team on with his goals and link up play.
“He has proven to many what most of us already knew! He’s a true footballing great!”
In 2001 Sutton was in the Celtic side that knocked Zlatan’s Ajax out of the Champions League qualifier with the Swede admitting that Celtic Park has the best atmosphere he has ever known.
