Luke Donnelly has become the 16th Celtic player to go out on loan with the club hoping that Efe Ambrose can make that number switch to 17.

Donnelly was on loan at Alloa earlier this season but has joined Morton on an emergency loan as they look to book a place in the Premiership play-off’s.

He won’t be short of company at Morton with Jamie Lindsay and Aidan Nesbitt already working under Jim Duffy.

In the Premiership Ryan Christie made a favourable impression on Aberdeen at the weekend scoring their second goal in the 2-0 win over Partick Thistle.

Across in Inverness Jamie McCart made his debut for Inverness Caley Thistle as they came from behind to grab a 2-2 draw against Dundee.

Closer to home Kristoffer Ajer seems to be making a big impression on Kilmarnock, playing his third match in central defence as they drew 1-1 away to Hamilton.

While Duffy now has a trio of ex Celts to choose from at Cappielow it was another loan Celt, Joe Thomson, who picked up the win bonus at Palmerston with Thomson scoring in Queen of the South’s 3-0 win over Morton.

Also in the Championship Paul McMullan has been in and out of the Dunfermline side, appearing as a substitute in the 2-0 defeat at Falkirk on Saturday.

Down a division into League One Aidan McIlduff made his Queens Park debut in their 2-2 draw with East Fife at Hampden, Theo Archibald had less to smile about as Albion Rovers lost 3-0 at Stranraer. Colin McCabe had to be content with a place on the bench as Stenhousemuir drew 2-2 away to Brechin City.

In the Lowland League Broque Watson made his debut as a substitute as Cumbernauld Colts edge out BSC Glasgow 4-3 with Lewis Bell and Shaun Bowers on the losing side.

Down south Scot Allan didn’t get off the bench as Rotherham lost 1-0 away to Bristol City while Leo Fasan was on the wrong end of a 3-0 defeat as Port Vale lost at home to Peterborough United.
