Thousands of fans of all ages have gathered outside of Celtic Park to pay their respects to Tommy Gemmell.

The Lisbon Lion died last week at the age of 73 and left the hoops support with incredible memories from his exploits on and off the park.

As the first defender to score in two European Cup Finals his place in the history of the game is assured.

In 1967 he scored the equalising goal against Inter Milan as Jock Stein’s side went on to become the first British side to lift the European Cup.

Gemmell was a key part of Stein’s success at Celtic as the club swept all before it domestically and competed at the cutting edge of European football.

After Celtic he played for Nottingham Forest and Dundee and had spells in management with Dundee and Albion Rovers.

Celtic was where his heart lay with his family insisting that his funeral procession to Daldowie leaving from Celtic Park.
