Leo Messi has reportedly asked Barcelona to sign Moussa Dembele.

According to a report on the Spanish website Diario Gol the Celtic striker is wanted to put pressure on the famous MSN strike force of Messi, Suarez and Neymar.

Dembele played twice against Barcelona in the Champions League without scoring but the Catalan side will be well aware of the three goals that the Celtic striker scored against Manchester City and Borussia Monchengladbach.

Those displays put Messi in the front line of European football with the 20-year-old taking his goal tally through the 30 barrier in the midweek win over Inverness Caley Thistle.

According to the report Messi said: “The MSN can have a bad day, so all the responsibility can not fall on the three attackers. A fourth man of guarantees and that accepts that secondary role. Moussa Dembelé (Celtic) or an all-terrain striker like Sergi Enrich (Eibar).

Dembele and his agent have insisted that they are happy to see out their four year contract at Celtic but if a concrete offer comes in from Barcelona that will be something that has to be given serious thought.

Celtic have got friendly ties with Barcelona and hold the main cards for the striker that they signed from Fulham last summer.
