Will SFA ban Wes Foderingham?

After the weekend events at Ibrox Tony McGlennan should be in for a busy day at Hampden.

If the SFA Compliance Officer was keeping an eye on events at the weekend he’ll have noted a number of strange incidents in the Scottish Cup tie at Ibrox.

A very soft penalty awarded is a matter for John Fleming in the Referee Department, similarly John Beaton’s decision to yellow card Joey Garner is a matter between the head of refereeing and his appointment to the match.

There is one area however that McGlennan can surely look into.

It won’t do Hamilton much good but it should ensure that assistant referees lup their game if McGlennan acts on Wes Foderingham’s hand ball outside of the penalty box.

Television coverage gives a clear view of the whole incident, exactly the view that assistant Alastair Mather should have.

Foderingham clearly handles the ball outside of the penalty box denying Hamilton a goalscoring opportunity.

A red card should have been issued- will McGlennan issue a retrospective suspension to the Ibrox goalkeeper which would rule him out of his side’s next Scottish Cup tie?
