Mikey Johnston is rumoured to be a loan target for Standard Liege.

The winger made his Celtic debut in May 2017 alongside Tony Ralston with both players having rollercoaster careers.

While Ralston thrived under Ange Postecoglou last season Johnston has struggled to put together any sort of run of appearances- starting just three Premiership matches last season.

In January 2020 Neil Lennon’s anger at Johnston was obvious to television viewers with injury blighting much of Johnston’s career.

Celtic Underground is one of the most respected websites and Twitter accounts on the o, in the summer of 2018 they were given an exclusive interview with Peter Lawwell.

With Jota, Liel Abada and Daizen Maeda wing options available to Postecoglou Johnston has had limited playing time in Celtic’s pre-season friendlies.

In recent years Celtic have been involved in deals that have taken Marian Shved, Jack Hendry, Eboue Kouassi and Boli Bolingoli to Begian clubs. With Ronny Deila managing Standard Liege a season in Belgium could be an attractive option for Johnston and Celtic.

This would be a good move for Celtic, Johnstone and Liege.
Hopefully with an option to buy.
