Georgios Samaras snubs Rangers for hoops.

Georgios Samaras has signed a six month loan deal with Celtic.

The 22-year-old striker signs on loan from Manchester City and is eligible for the Champions League matches with Barcelona.

After being frozen out at City by Sven Goran-Eriksson the striker is looking to win a place in the Greek squad looking to retain the European Championship in the summer.

Twenty four hours ago Samaras had been linked with a move to Rangers but has instead opted to sign for Scotland’s Champions League team.

Joining Georgios today at Celtic is Koki Mizuno as the transfer window prepares to close.
