Dundalk 1-3 Celtic

|

I’ve only got some patchy details in from today’s friendly at Dundalk which Celtic’s reserve side won 3-1in front of 4,000 supporters.

Ben Hutchison, Michael McGlinchey and Nicky Riley were the unlikely scorers at Oriel Park.

Hutchison, who appeared as a late substitute in the 7-0 win over St Mirren the previous day, opened the scoring for Celtic midway through the first half but the home side equalised before the break.

Michael McGlinchey, who was linked with a move to Dundalk, scored the second for Celtic with Nicky Riley marking his first appearance of the season with a goal.

Massimo Donati who fell victim to an ‘over-enthusiastic’ challenge on the hour mark but the injury isn’t thought to be too serious.

CELTIC Fox, Doumbe, Marr, Misun, Lafferty; McGinn, Donati, Miller, Conroy; Hutchison, McGlinchey. Subs Riley (Hutchison) Cawley (Donati)

Joe McHugh has edited Video Celts since 2010, every day covering events in and around Scotland's most successful club.

When a six year stretch at the Sunday Mirror came to an end it was clear that the future was digital, print had ran its race.

Smart phones and social media created a new landscape, Video Celts has certainly made an impact with Joe described as having an unhealthy obsession by Peter Lawwell at the 2024 Celtic AGM. A priceless endorsement.

There are issues breaking around the clock, no two days are the same. More than 50 years on from his first match Joe is enjoying the ongoing successes of Celtic.
