Danish Cup success for Morten Wieghorst at Nordsjaelland

Former Celt Morten Wieghorst was celebrating tonight after guiding Nordsjaelland to a 2-0 extra time win over Midtjylland in the final of the Danish Cup.

Wieghorst took over as manager five years ago after quitting Brondby whom he joined after leaving Celtic in 2002.

The midfielder never quite became a regular at Celtic after signing from Dundee but was a stylish operator under various different managers.

Early in Martin O’Neill’s reign he was struck down by Guillain-Barre syndrome which threatened his life and kept him out of football for over a year.

Amongst his players at Nordsjaelland is Bajram Fetai who spent some time at Rangers, the striker has shot to fame recent for his bizarre ‘shooting’ goal celebrations which have been described as the most violent celebrations ever.
