Celtic lost out to a late goal from Wolfsburg in their opening tie in the Spax Cup.
Stevie Frail’s side play Anderlecht tomorrow at 10.30am (BST) knowing that a win is essential if they are to finish in the top two of the Mahindra Group and qualify for Monday’s semi finals.
Frail admitted: “Ultimately it was disappointing, there’s a fine line between success and failure and it’s never easy to take losing a late goal.
“We struck the woodwork twice in the match, Wolfsburg had their chances as well, but we’ve got to pick ourselves up for the two matches on Sunday.
“Anderlecht lost 2-1 to Moenchengladbach so they go into the match in the same situation as we are.
“The weather was incredible against Wolfsburg and our boys haven’t seen much of the sun recently.
“It’s been a long season for them and maybe there were some signs of that in our performance.
“We’ve had a great season, we’re looking for a final effort from the players and hopefully we can have some more success.”
