Celtic youths beat Dortmund 2-1

Celtic’s youth side came from a goal down to beat Borussia Dortmund 2-1 this afternoon in the Blue Stars/FIFA Youth Cup in Switzerland.

Two trialists were on target against the Germans to help Stevie Frail’s side to full points with Group B perfectly balanced with Club America (Mexico) and FC Zurich on 4 points ahead of Celtic, Dortmund and Blue Stars all on 3 points.

Celtic lost their opening match 1-0 to the host club who went on to lose to Zurich and Club America.

Against Dortmund the Germans went in front after twelve minutes but an equaliser 5 minutes later from a trialist was followed by another scoring trialist four minutes from time with Dortmund losing their discipline having three players booked in the last ten minutes.

Tomorrow Celtic play Zurich at 9am then face Club America in the final group match at 10.40am with the two group winners meeting in the final at 4.45pm.
