It was a disappointing day in Zurich for Celtic’s youth side in the Blue Stars/Fifa Cup which was eventually won Boca Juniors.
Stevie Frail’s side lost 2-0 this morning to FC Zurich who went on to reach the final which they lost 5-4 on penalties.
That result killed off Celtic’s hopes of winning their group to reach the final, in their final group match they lost 1-0 to Club America of Mexico who scored through Gallardo Rodriguez in the 16th minute.
Celtic finished up in fourth place which led to a play off against Real Mallorca for 7th/8th place. Despite Michael Ordish opening the scoring Celtic lost 2-1 to the Spanish side.
