Celtic ready for Boston date with FC Porto

Celtic are set to complete their North American tour with a friendly against FC Porto at Boston’s Fenway Park on July 21.

The final details have still to be confirmed for the match between the club’s that contested the 2003 UEFA Cup final in Seville.

July 21 had been suggested for a possible Celtic-Rangers ‘friendly’ but after adverse publicity about their supporters Rangers’ interest cooled on the idea.

Porto now look like providing the opposition in what will be the final match in the club’s four match trip to North America.

Philadelphia Union will host Celtic on July 14, two days later Celtic face Manchester United in Toronto before moving on to Seattle to play the Sounders on July 18.

Celtic will return to the east coast to play Porto in Boston in their final match before facing a Champions League qualifier on July 27/28 with the return match a week later, after playing in the Emirates Cup against Arsenal and Lyon.
