Decision time for Milan Misun's Celtic career

|

Milan Misun is hoping to put the miseries of last season into the past to secure his Celtic future.

The highly rated defender was forced to write off last season after damaging cruciate ligaments during a brief appearance last season against Brisbane Roar.

A year on the treatment table at the age of 19 in a foreign country would test the resolve of any player but the defender believes that his biggest test lies ahead as he attempts to win a new Celtic deal.

Misun admitted: “This is a very important season for me because it will decide if I stay at Celtic or have to move to another club.

“I hope my performance against Seattle has shown the manager I can play a part in his team. I thought we were very good in defence and I played a big part in our second goal, which is a big thing for my confidence.

“I am really enjoying things now at Celtic obviously I want to play much more than I have so far because last season was very frustrating for me and very boring as well.

“It was a very bad start for my Celtic career, but that is all behind me now and I want to look forward.

“Last season was hard for everyone at the club because we didn’t win the league and at times we were unlucky.

“I think the problem was we brought in too many new players who had not played together and who didn’t know each other well enough.”

The defender, who joined Celtic from FK Pribrum in the Czech Republic, added: “Now I think a lot of the players know each other better, so the team will improve.

“We have a new manager, but it doesn’t feel like that because Neil Lennon has been with Celtic a long time. He was coaching the boys with Gordon Strachan and was also here with Tony Mowbray.

“He has always been around and the players like him. That’s important for the team we are confident we can do well this season.”
