Artur Boruc looks to be back towards his best judging by the video below from the midweek friendly away to Valencia.
Although Fiorentina lost 2-1 the old sharpness seems to be back in Boruc’s game if this complilation video is anything to go by.
The former Celtic keeper made a dramatic departure to Italy on route to the club’s North American tour when he switched onto a flight to Pisa as Celtic headed west to Boston.
Watching the clip is almost like a throwback to the vintage 2005-2008 period when it was possible to make a case for the Pole being amongst the best goalkeepers in Europe.
With two successful Champions League group phases sandwiched between  a World Cup and European Championship campaign for Poland Boruc was at his peak.
With the brilliance however came some madness with some high profile howlers for club and country mirroring some of the off-field problems that the keeper was going through.
Despite the sometimes erratic form Boruc remained one of Celtic’s better players- not many players move from the SPL to Seria A which despite recent scandals remains amongst the most glamorous leagues in the world.
Boruc has fierce competition for a place in the Fiorentina side from Sebastian Frey who is believed to be interesting Arsenal.
Fiorentina kick-off their Serie A campaign at home to Napoli next Sunday and although Frey is likely to start the season Boruc isn’t used to be being second best to anyone.
