Cillian Sheridan promoted to full Ireland squad

|

Fresh from his move to CSKA Sofia, Cillian Sheridan has been promoted into the full Ireland squad for the international double header with Armenia and Andorra.

The former Celtic striker was initially named in the u-21 squad to face Austria and Turkey but has been called up to the full international squad by Giovanni Trapatonni.

Sheridan will be joined on international duty by Darren O’Dea and Aiden McGeady.

It promises to be a hectic couple of months for Sheridan with CSKA drawn in ‘the group from hell’ in the Europa Cup from a Celtic supporters perspective alongside Rapid Vienna and Porto with Besiktas making up Group L.

CSKA had a fairly straightforward route into the group stage putting out Cliftonville and The New Saints of Wales.
