The 33-year-old put in a typically commanding display as Sweden eased Scotland aside in midweek and is looking forward to installing some composure and leadership to Celtic’s leaky defence.
He said: “Celtic wanted someone to take control at the back and they see me as a player who can do that.
“The dialogue I’ve had with the club tells me they have been searching for a player to control things in the defence so it feels great they see me as that man.”
Majstorovic will leave AEK Athens on a free transfer to join Celtic with the Greek club a victim of the countries economic difficulties.
Johan Mjallby has been the driving force behind the deal which is as good an endorsement as any Celtic defender could get.
Majstorovic added: “We have talked in recent days and it feels very positive for me.
“The economic situation in Greece is tough. There was not really any talk that something was about to happen but when this came up it was a solution which suited both parties.”
