It’s taken longer than I anticipated but at long last Video Celts can start to live up to it’s name.
Without the sophistication of mainstream broadcasters and attempting to hold my mobile at the right angle, it was a pleasure to catch up with Tom Boyd and others at the recent Masters Event in Newcastle.
Trailing 2-1 to the Rangers Masters the never-say-die Celts battled back in traditional fashion to win 3-2 with Tom Boyd scoring the winner after Joe Miller’s equaliser.
Unfortunately that was to be as good as it got for the Celts with Middlesbrough, inspired by Gaizka Mendieta, beating Celtic 3-2 to book a place in the final where they lost out to Sunderland in a penalty shoot-out.
Competing in the Masters for Celtic were Stewart Kerr, Boyd, Tosh McKinlay, Brian McLaughlin, Davie Elliot, Chic Charnley, Joe Miller and Paul Byrne with former Celts Alex Mathie in the Newcastle side and Michael Gray turning out for Sunderland.
