The week of the message board

|

It was the week of the message board as the intrepid anonymous online CSC again came up with the scoops for Daniel Majstorovic and Emilio Izaguerri.

News emerged in the Greek and Honduran media that the deals were at an advanced stage with word quickly spreading on-line.

Once again the on-line Celt was ahead of the game with profiles and recent accounts of both players quickly being put together with both being well received on-line although after recent experiences any physical centre-half and decent left-back is assured of a warm Celtic welcome.

Amongst the websites the official site managed to leak out some interesting news on the back of the official launch of the Celtic Viewer.

Interviewed on Channel 67, Paul Aniello the man behind the Viewer mentioned the re-launch of the official website in the next few months. The Celtic Viewer has been very favourably welcomed, if a similar effort is being put into a revamped official club website then it should be well worth bookmarking.

Anielo said: “We will be updating the Viewer day by day, film and video companies are approaching us with material all the time, we’ll keep adding and adding

“We’ll have short features of On This Day videos which will be going onto the main site using archive, every day there will be a special event from Celtic history.

“When the new Celtic website is on-line in a few months time there is a lot of material from the archive that will be added. It will constantly grow year on year, it will constantly grow, there is no end to the material that we can put on.

The build-up to the new SPL season was interrupted by Martin O’Neill’s departure from Aston Villa and Neil Lennon confirming Celtic’s interest in Craig Bellamy.

Both subjects were well covered by Eddie and Harry on the Celtic Underground podcast with Daniel Gillespie neatly summing things up.

He said: “So would O’Neill come back for a advisory role or a ‘Director of Football’? I would love it to happen, but I really don’t think anything will come of it. For many reasons, the main one being that how can Lennon do his job when he has such a presence behind them ALL the time and looking on his every move?

“Not to mention the pressure that Neil would ensue if he lost a game or two, the calls for O’Neill to be installed as manager would deafening.”

Streetwise Lenny knows the score on that one and hasn’t been afraid to discuss The Birmingham Three whenever the interview gets around to the long running ‘godfather/mentor’ issue.

Find of the week for myself came via Facebook where Not Celtic Class was brought to my attention. The site is in Spanish which should provide a welcome stepping stone for anyone wanting to keep upto date with the progress of Efain Juarez and Emilio Izaguerri.

Without distorting the site through Google translations Toni our Spanish bhoy looks to be doing a great job with an in-depth look at all matters Celtic.

Friday’s etims Rumour Mill replaced the close- season Friday Supplement and made an upbeat return. Etims have been very consistent on Craig Bellamy and Ivan Ramis but threw in the arrival of James McFadden and possible departure of Marco Fortune back to West Brom in their usual recipe of riddles and teasing.

The transfer window departures looks like being much more lively with Izaguerri and Majstorovic bringing the arrivals upto ten since Lennon got the job.

Celticfc blog has certainly caught the attention with perhaps an older audience with it’s dry sarcastic look at events behind the scenes in the transfer market.

The pessimistic/realistic preview of the season certainly created a stir with an introduction of : “Every time I tune in to the transfer window it always seems to draw me in, have me on the edge of my seat with excitement in parts, until near the end and suddenly the plot all becomes clear and you remember you have seen this blockbuster many many times before.”

Harper of Lost Bhoys isn’t afraid to share an opinion or three, or to eat humble pie when required.

Looking at the win over Inverness Caley Thistle he admitted: “Credit where credit is due though because everything good we did going forward came through him and if Shaun can turn this man-of-the-match display into regular form then there is certainly time to save his Celtic career and get back to the previous heights of his first time round in the side.”

Saturday’s match at Inverness neatly summarised the on-going Paddy McCourt debate, being injured scoring a winning goal simply adds to the legend of the Derry Diego or Derry Pele depending on your viewpoint, We Know SFA certainly cover all shades of opinion on the Paddy issue.

They say: “The talent and trickery of the Derry Pele is not in any doubt…the ability to be of use to his team when it matters is still very much up for grabs. It’s time for McCourt to stop being a cult hero and start being a first-team player.”
