Thomas Rogne injury doubt

|

Thomas Rogne is an injury doubt for Saturday’s SPL opener at Inverness Caley Thistle on Saturday.

The defender lasted for just 26 minutes of last’s night’s u-21 match between Norway and Croatia which the Croatians won 4-1.

Rogne joined Celtic in January and started three games last season, picking up hamstring injuries away to Rangers and Dundee United.

It was hoped that a summer of complete rest would cure the problem with the defender coming through Celtic’s pre-season programme without any problems.

On Sunday he played alongside Milan Misun in the centre of defence and would have been in contention for a starting place at Inverness.

Hopefully the decision to come off early last night will have limited any damage.

  • Mike Bhoyle says:

Shame about this Joe….he looks a prospect.
Do you know if this a recurring problem he’s going to have …or is it just one of those things that happened in this game??

  • Joe McHugh says:

There’s no detail yet on the injury Mike.

He’s came through an extensive pre-season with Celtic playing back-to-back in the Emirates Cup.

If it’s another hamstring injury that will be a concern, hopefully it was all precautionary and he’ll soon be fulfilling the promise that he’s shown so far in his brief Celtic career

    cheers
