Milan Misun targets Celtic first team place

|

Milan Misun is hoping that a month at Dundee can relaunch his Celtic career.

The 20-year-old joined Celtic from Dukla Pribram in January 2009 but sufered cruciate ligament damage against Brisbane Roar in the first game of Tony Mowbray’s ill-fated term as manager.

Misun played against Manchester United, Arsenal and Blackburn during Celtic’s pre-season schedule and is looking to add an edge to his game during his stint at Dens Park.

He revealed: “I spoke to the manager on Wednesday, he said Dundee wanted me and that he felt it would be good for me.

“It was decided by Friday that I would come to Dundee but I only arrived at 1pm.

“I know one or two of the players already from playing at Celtic but obviously as I get to know my new team-mates better – and get used to the way they play – it will become easier.

“It’s good to be playing in a competitive match, it’s much better than a reserve game. Reserve games are just like friendlies, but when it is a real game then there is passion and everyone is desperate to win.”

Misun added: “There are fans watching the game, too, and there is an atmosphere. The manager has told me that it would be better for me to play games at the moment. I want to go back to Celtic and push for a place in the team.

“I am here for one month but at the end of that we will see what happens.

“I enjoyed playing, Dundee are a good team. The defence was strong and everyone played together as a group.”

Dundee drew 0-0 at home to Raith Rovers on Saturday with former Celt Rab Douglas saving a first half penalty.

Gordon Chisholm’s side are currently sitting in seventh place in Division One, seven points behind leaders Dunfermline and travel to Cowdenbeath on Saturday.
