Islam Feruz and Gustavo Adrian Ruales included in Celtic squad to play Bohemians

Islam Feruz and Gustavo Adrian Ruales have been named in the Celtic squad to face Bohemians on Sunday.

Feruz appeared as a second half substitute in the Tommy Burns Memorial Match two years ago but the trip to Dublin will be the first time that he’s included in a Celtic squad.

Striker Ruales is on trial at Celtic from Mexican club Santos Lugana and is a US u-20 internationalist.

Feruz, who recently turned 15, has been impressive in the Celtic u-17 side this season and was in the team that beat Rangers 2-1 in the Glasgow Cup last week.

The Somali born youngster has been nurtured through the Celtic Academy set-up and recently helped Scotland’s u-17 side to wins over Macedonia and Luxemburg before a draw with Switzerland progressed the young Scots into the elite qualifying stage.

Celtic have been very protective of Feruz who attracted a flurry of media attention last year when he was included in the Scotland schoolboy side to play in the Victory Shield internationals.

Neil Lennon will take a strong squad to Dublin on Sunday with most of his summer signings lined up to face Bohemians.

Anthony Stokes and Daryl Murphy are assured of a special welcome while the level of support that Celtic have in Dublin will come as an eye-opener to Gary Hooper and Efrain Juarez.

The prolific James Keatings is also in the squad as well as Filip Twardzik and Bahrudin Atajic.

FULL SQUAD: Dominic Cervi, Lukasz Zaluska, Mark Wilson, Glenn Loovens, Jos Hooiveld, Filip Twardzik, Marc Crosas, Richie Towell, Efrain Juarez, Anthony Stokes, Gary Hooper, Daryl Murphy, Adrian Ruales, James Keatings, Bahrudin Atajic, Islam Feruz.
