Venue switch for Celtic youths

|

Celtic’s u-19 match with Kilmarnock tomorrow has been switched from Lennoxtown to Barrowfield, kick-off 1pm.

After the disappointment of having last Saturday’s game with St Mirren postponed due to a waterlogged pitch the young Celts should have a perfect surface to play on at Barrowfield.

Celtic have won four out of four matches in the league so far with goalkeeper Robbie Thomson yet to concede a goal.

Aberdeen are sitting at the top of the table four points ahead of Celtic but Stevie Frail’s side have got three games in hand over the Dons.

Tomorrow’s opponents Kilmarnock are at the bottom of the league with just three points from their six matches with their only win coming thanks to a 4-2 win at home to Inverness Caley Thistle last Saturday.

Hopefully tomorrow’s match will be the start of an intensive period for the youth side who’ll play at Celtic Park against Liverpool on Tuesday in a scaled down version of the Champions League.

Next weekend Celtic begin their defence of  the SFA Youth Cup with a home tie against Dundee. A date to look out for is November 16 when Celtic are scheduled to play Rangers in the first derby match of the season.

When a six year stretch at the Sunday Mirror came to an end it was clear that the future was digital, print had ran its race.

Smart phones and social media created a new landscape, Video Celts has certainly made an impact with Joe described as having an unhealthy obsession by Peter Lawwell at the 2024 Celtic AGM. A priceless endorsement.

There are issues breaking around the clock, no two days are the same. More than 50 years on from his first match Joe is enjoying the ongoing successes of Celtic.
