Alain Hamer in charge of Celtic AND Rangers matches

Luxembourg’s top referee Alain Hamer will referee Celtic AND Rangers this weekend!

The highly rated UEFA rated whistler will be in charge of Celtic’s match with Inverness Caley Thistle on Saturday then travel to Tannadice for the Dundee United-Rangers match the following day.

With the withdrawl of Polish referees to take charge of SPL matches the SFA had to decide whether to have a lesser experienced referee given a Celtic or Rangers match or give Hamer a ‘double dunt’.

Hamer will have the same assistant’s for both matches with Stephen Allan of the SFA the fourth official at the Celtic match and Andy Tait on touchline duties the following day.

In midweek the 45-year-old was in charge of Hapoel Tel Aviv’s 3-0 Champions League win over Benfica where he dished out four yellow cards.
