Striking referee Craig Thomson has been accused of making ‘strange decisions’ by Jose Mourinho.

The Real Madrid boss was speaking out after watching Xabi Alonso and Sergio Ramos ordered off in the dying stages of last night’s 4-0 win over Ajax in the Amsterdam ArenA.

Uefa are believed to be looking into allegations that the Real players got sent off deliberately to serve suspensions in the final meaningless Champions League match at home to Auxerre but Mourinho has pre-empted any investigation by questioning Thomson’s display.

Whether Thomson will call for a strike ballot amongst European referees is unclear but it’s thought unlikely that he would risk his European appointments.

“‘The sendings-off came after an easy game where the referee has shown some strange yellows,” the Real boss claimed.

‘They are cards that I don’t like. It was an easy game to control. Ajax made a lot of fouls and in the first from Ramos he was shown a yellow card.

“Stories sell, but the important thing is the 4-0 win and the fantastic game we had. Let’s talk about that and not other things.”

Why leave all the talking to mouthpieces Clark and Dougal?

He’s been criticised! Poor diddums! He and his cronies have a strike to organise now.

  • Stevie says:

Scottish referees should not be involved in such a big game there been proven untrustworthy.

Why has Dallas not been sacked yet?

Why has he not been sacked?

Only in Scotland would we be in to week three of an email investigation.

The length of time that it has taken and the fact that Dallas hasn’t been suspended suggests that the SFA are trying to find as soft a punishment as possible for their beloved Dallas.

The SFA’s sponsors must be looking on anxiously and wondering why they pay money to be associated with this sort of behaviour.

  • as allegations of sectarianism are shouted by those who have everything to lose it was nice to see Thomson blow that theory out the water.
