A second anti-catholic e-mail scandal is about to hit the SFA.

Members of staff sacked alongwith shamed former referee Hugh Dallas are due to have their appeals heard on Wednesday and are believed to be ready to highlight previous e-mail’s sent through the SFA which went unpunished.

Dallas was initially reported to have resigned for family reasons but it was later revealed that he was sacked and is appealing against his dismissal.

The former Head of Refereeing sent out an e-mail linking the visit of the pope to child abuse with five other SFA employees sacked for the same offence.

According to a source in today’s Sunday Mail: “They are furious and think they are the scapegoats for this. The SFA tried to make it look as if they have acted decisively but it seems they have opened a huge can of worms instead.

“If it’s proved that this second email has circulated between other staff, some of them very senior, it’s hardly fair.

“They believe they have been treated unfairly because this video went round other staff – including two senior guys – with no consequences.”

The report in the Sunday Mail paints a disturbing picture of life within the SFA where it seems commonplace to forward material in clear breach of their IT policy.

With several blue-chip sponsors such as Adidas, Thomas Cook, Carling and Sky Sports SFA Chief Executive Stewart Regan will have to act quickly to retain any sort of credibility for the organisation.

Dallas’s appeal will be heard tomorrow according to the report with the other appeals coming on Wednesday.

The Sunday Mail source added: “Whatever the outcome of his (Dallas) appeal, it could be a guide as to what might happen with the other three.

“They’re not going away quietly. They believe that there is serious hypocrisy in the way they have been treated. They believe their punishment didn’t fit the ‘crime’. They want their jobs back.”

they want there jobs back have they no shame never mind there integrity and honesty.
hope this bring about the changes that have been required at the sfa for many a year.
the sfa being anti catholic does them no favors Celtic fc has always been an all inclusive club open to any and all religious backgrounds.

Dallas’ appeal was heard on Monday 13th December. Monday the 20th is when he hears the outcome of that appeal. BUT Regan is adamant his ‘decision is final’ and if Dallas is re-instated then ‘he will resign’

The video in question circulated to senior staff at the SFA, one of which was George Peat, was about a new fragrance called ‘Priest-off’; you can guess what the video was about!

Phil wrote about the ‘anti-catholic canteen culture’ within the SFA so the question those under appeal seem to be asking is why them and why now?

That was Dallas’ basis for his appeal on Monday 13th!

But two wrongs don’t make a right and I worship the earth that is coming to them.

    Some interesting detail there celtforlife.

I really wonder what George Peat’s qualifications are for hearing an appeal- I don’t really see him as the type to have any HR qualifications.

The SFA have never commented on Dallas’s ‘departure’ initially it was family reasons to take the heat off him then it was a sacking allowing him to appeal.

It’s a matter for the SFA to deal with, it is not a club matter, but emphasises that Stewart Regan has a massive job on his hands tackling issues that most certainly weren’t included in the job desciption.
