Striking target gets Bundesliga offer

Paddy Madden Celtic news

Paddy Madden

Celtic target Paddy Madden has been offered a week’s trial by Vfb Stuttgart.

The Bohemians striker has been contacted by the Bundesliga club who are eager to see the striker in action.

Celtic have watched Madden closely this year and played a friendly against Bohemians in October.

It’s believed that a fee in the region of 100,000 euros has been agreed between the clubs but personal terms couldn’t be agreed with the player.

Madden scored 11 league goals for Bohemians last season with the cash strapped club desperate to bring in some money during the winter months.

The transfer fee from Stuttgart would go a long way to ensuring Bohemians survival with a number of players not getting paid wages despite being under contract.

A number of Championship clubs in England have looked at the striker who has joined the Wasserman Media Group that also looks after Robbie Keane and Steven Gerrard.

Celtic are clearly in the market for a young emerging striker with Shadhon Winchester from Trinidad & Tobago and Mexican/American Adrian Ruelas both spending time on trial at Lennoxtown.
