Club hammers twitter sinner

Aldershot have transfer listed and fined Marvin Morgan two weeks wages after he told supporters, ‘I hope you all die’ on his twitter account.

Morgan was booed during his side’s 2-1 defeat by Hereford and responded angrily on twitter.

A statement from Aldershot read: “The player accepted that his conduct was totally misguided and inappropriate and he accepts that his actions were incorrect and ill disciplined.

“Accepting that his actions had been foolish he explained that they had been made in the heat of the moment and apologised for the distress he had caused.

“The football club are satisfied that the player meant no malice with his comments. However they were completely irresponsible and contrary to the values of Aldershot Town Football Club.

“The player has also undermined the good work that he and his colleagues have done servicing the local community.”

After the match Morgan tweeted: “Like to thank the fans who booed me off the pitch. Where’s that going to get you! I hope you all die.”

Thankfully the Celtic players on twitter take a much more responsible attitude and steer well clear of any online verbal assaults.

Marc Crosas and Ki Sung Yeung are the main Celts on twitter and seem to have encouraged Joe Ledley and Jos Hooiveld to go online as well.

The twitter Celts mainly confine their comments to televised football, social events, cinema trips and the occasional bitchy comment at each other.

Celtic’s new look website is expected to go on twitter shortly after joining facebook earlier this week.
