Jason Marr Celtic news Jason Marr has gone on loan to Ross County until the end of the season.

Willie McStay tied up the deal last night and has put the defender straight into his team to face Dundee United in the Scottish Cup today.

Marr had been on loan at Falkirk with McStay pleased to be re-united with the defender. “I am delighted to get Marr,” the Ross County boss admitted.

“It’s a real coup for us. He is a Scotland under-21 international and he is an accomplished defender.

“He is exactly the kind of player we want to bring to the club.  He has played in the First Division all season and he is a good addition, especially after Darren McCormack broke his leg.”

Marr returned to Celtic on Tuesday from Falkirk and had hoped to return to the First Division side.

He said: “I’d like to stay, and its been a great experience, and I just want to keep going and get as many games as I can.

“The manager told me after the game I was going back to Celtic on Tuesday, but hopefully I’ll be back.

“There is a great group of boys round the club, the fans and everyone involved behind the scenes are great – it’s all been great and I’d really like to stay.”

Also joining McStay in Dingwall is Stuart Balmer who has been appointed as assistant manager.
