United’s pitch has passed an 8.15am pitch inspection for the noon clash with .

A statement on the club website said: “Today’s match against Celtic will go ahead after the declared the pitch playable following an early morning pitch inspection.

“The Referee will continue to monitor the situation as conditions change.”

The second part of that statement suggests that there is still a chance of the game being postponed- just over 3 hours from kick-off.

United have only played nine home SPL matches this season and are five behind the three clubs above them in the table.

A waterlogged pitch appears to be causing the concern but really should be something that an SPL club can cope with.

Across the road at yesterday Dundee were able to play their game with whilst ’s home match with was called off due to a waterlogged pitch.
