Striker's loan move gets the ok from FIFA

|

Morten Rasmussen Celtic newsMorten Rasmussen has been given the green light to join Aalborg on loan until the end of the season.

The striker had been on loan to Mains 05 but after a bright start to his career in the Bundesliga fell out of favour.

Aalborg tried to sign Rasmussen from Mains before the January transfer window closed but were too late contacting Celtic to get the deal completed in time.

After appealing to FIFA for clearance the loan deal went through on Friday with the striker training with his new club.

“The big expectation for the stay is avoiding relegation,” he told the Aalborg website. “That is the big goal and the struggle I am pleased to be part of with the rest of the team.

“Furthermore, I have a good relationship with Kent Nielsen, who I think is a really good coach. It certainly meant something to my thinking that I know him already, like he knows me and knows what I stand for as a player.”

Rasmussen scored twice in five appearances for Mains as they stormed to the top of the Bundesliga at the start of the season before falling out of favour.

After joining Celtic in January 2010 he scored 3 goals from 4 starts and nine substitute appearances.

Aalborg are currently sitting at the bottom of the Danish table with 16 points from 19 matches with their next match at home to Silkeborg on March 5.
