Mjallby looking forward to Shaun Maloney's return

|

Shaun Maloney Celtic newsJohan Mjallby is confident that Shaun Maloney can have a big impact on the SPL title race.

Maloney hasn’t played since picking up achilles injury against Rangers in October but is now back in full training.

Mjallby watched the midfielder closely last weekend in Bilbao and expects his former team-mate to be back in action before too long.

“You have to remember that Shaun has been out for a long time but the good thing is that he’s back in training,” the Celtic assistant told Channel 67. “He’s training 100% and we just need a couple of more hard training sessions with the squad to ge back to his best.

“Before his injury he was arguably one of our best players, it was a big blow when he got injured. Now he’s back and that’s great to see.

“The injuries are clearing and we’re looking in good nick for the run in. When you have everyone fit it makes the competition great.

“Everyone knows that every game is like a cup final for us. We need to go on a good run and take three points every time.

“If we do that it’s going to be a very exciting end to the season.”
