Neil Lennon breaks his silence on @officialneil

Neil Lennon Celtic newsCeltic boss Neil Lennon has broken his public silence- via twitter.

The hoops boss hasn’t made any public comment since previewing his side’s Scottish Cup win over Rangers on March 2.

Johan Mjallby and Alan Thompson have stepped in to do Lennon’s media duties as more cowardly threats were made on the Celtic manager.

Lennon opened his twitter account in January but had steered cleared of the social networking site since January 18 but after taking a training session in Bilbao tonight the hoops boss made his online return.

“Great day at St Andrews yesterday. Being kept very busy but will tweet more soon! Thanks to my followers, really appreciate your support,” he tweeted.

Adding: “We had the Dublin Gaelic team training this week at our centre. Enjoyed having them here, wish them well for the season.”

Later on the Celtic boss added: “Can’t thank you all enough for your support it’s very inspiring . It’s dads birthday today so it’s double celebration for me.”

Lennon is in Bilbao with a makeshift squad for tomorrow’s friendly with Athletico.

International and youth team commitments have decimated the Celtic squad but there was some good news when the squad checked in at Glasgow Airport.

Full-back Cha Du-Ri joined the travelling party and is in line to play at some stage tomorrow night.

The Korean hasn’t played for Celtic since December 27 but has shaken off an ankle injury and is ready to play his part in the title run-in.

Joe McHugh has edited Video Celts since 2010, every day covering events in and around Scotland's most successful club.

When a six year stretch at the Sunday Mirror came to an end it was clear that the future was digital, print had ran its race.

Smart phones and social media created a new landscape, Video Celts has certainly made an impact with Joe described as having an unhealthy obsession by Peter Lawwell at the 2024 Celtic AGM. A priceless endorsement.

There are issues breaking around the clock, no two days are the same. More than 50 years on from his first match Joe is enjoying the ongoing successes of Celtic.
