Lionel Messi is confident that Barcelona will see off Arsenal in tonight’s Champions League clash.
The Gunners 2-1 win over the Spanish champions came as a big surprise and has planted some doubt over Pep Guardiola’s side.
Arsenal have been typically inconsistent since the first leg with a win and draw over Orient alongside Saturday’s draw with Sunderland and losing the Carling Cup 2-1 to Birmingham City.
Everything points to a home win tonight with Barca priced at 3/10 over 90 minutes which although skinny looks like a fairly risk free bet.
Messi really should have been on the score-sheet in London but is convinced that Arsenal’s attacking style will play into Barcelona’s hands.
“We remain confident of progressing,” the Argentinian admitted. “Obviously we were bitterly disappointed to lose the first leg at the Emirates and felt we created more than enough chances to win the game.
“But it will be a different story in Spain. I’m not sure Arsenalare a side who can play to defend – and that will leave them very open.
“We are a side that will always create chances. It’s important for us to be clinical and ruthless in front of goal with so much at stake.’
“Our elimination at the hands of Inter Milan last season has served to motivate us even more. We have not considered the prospect of elimination even after the first leg defeat against Arsenal.”
