Skipper Scott Brown stole the show at Thursday’s Celtic Charity Fund Dinner.
Twenty four hours after the latest win over Rangers Brown had the audience in fits of laughter with his silent role in a video specially prepared for the event by the first team squad.
The main beneficiary of the night was the Teenage Cancer Trust who provide specialist support throughout Scotland.
Teenage Cancer Trust funds and builds units in NHS hospitals for young people with cancer, giving them the best chance of a positive outcome. Young people, families and friends can relax and meet others going through the same journey.
At the moment there are two Teenage Cancer Trust units in the West of the country – at Yorkhill and at the Beatson West of Scotland Cancer Centre with fund raising aimed at supporting and developing the charity’s invaluable work in Scotland so that, by 2012, every teenager will have access to the specialist support they provide.
Brown made several silent appearance through the video and simply stretched out his hands in the style now known as ‘Doing the Broony’.
Dominic Cervi’s college boy good looks were highlighted as he danced with ‘Night Fever’ in the background showing off his Colgate smile.
After failing to remember his lines Anthony Stokes eventually gets it right but rivalling Brown and Cervi for entertainment is Biram Kayal as he struggles to come to terms with the essential ‘Hail Hail’ phrase.
‘Hoot Hoot’ and ‘Hoo Hoo’ are unlikely to take off but prompted from the sidelines the Israeli makes it third time lucky as he manages to finally come up with ‘Hail Hail’.
Fergus McCann was amongst the guests at the event with the first team squad showing their varying levels of competence when put on the spot to record a message.
Neil Lennon’s message excused Stokes from contributing due to his regular fines/donations through the season but warned the Dubliner to go easy on the vodkas and look after his team-mates…
