Four Celts honoured by PFA

|

Mark Wilson Celtic newsFour Celtic players have been named in the Cheque Centre Scotland PFA team of the season.

Mark Wilson, Emilio Izaguirre, Biram Kayal and Gary Hooper have all been voted into the team of the year with Hooper and Izaguirre also in the running for Player of the Year.

The inclusion of Wilson and Kayal is quite unlikely as both players have only been Celtic regulars since the turn of the year.

Joe Ledley’s ommission is perhaps surprising since he has played all season since moving from Cardiff while Charlie Mulgrew would probably attract a lot of votes since being played at centre-half.

Perhaps the biggest surprise is Kenny Miller’s non-appearance. Miller remains the top scorer in the SPL with Conor Sammon, now of Wigan, voted in to partner Hooper in attack.

Team of The Year: McGregor (Rangers); Wilson (Celtic), Zaliukas (Hearts), Bougherra (Rangers), Izaguirre (Celtic); Naismith (Rangers), Kayal (Celtic), Eremenko (Kilmarnock); Goodwillie (Dundee United), Sammon (Kilmarnock), Hooper (Celtic)

Celtic’s u-19 side have an early start to the day, facing St Mirren at McKenna Park, Govan, kick-off 11am.

Biram Kayal: I didn’t come to Glasgow I came to Celtic!
