England call up Gary Hooper

Gary Hooper Celtic newsGary Hooper has been named in England’s provisional squad of 40 for this summers u-21 European Championships in Denmark.

The Celtic striker has still to make his international debut after pulling out of the last England squad through injury.

Hooper is included in an impressive squad named today by Sturat Pearce which includes Andy Carroll and Jack Wilshere.

England have been drawn in the same group as tournament favourites Spain as well as the Ukraine and the Czech Republic.

Pearce will cut his squad down to 23 before a friendly with Norway at Southampton on June 5 before travelling to Denmark.
