Kris Commons on the fans huddle

|

Kris Commons Celtic newsKris Commons is determined to give the Celtic support a party to remember at Hampden on Saturday.

The midfielder has made an amazing impact since joining Celtic in January from Derby County for £300,000.

Like all of the new players Commons has been amazed at the strength of the Celtic support and had a perfect view of Sunday’s amazing huddle against Motherwell.

Two cheap yellow cards from Craig Thomson against Hearts last week while Ian Black hacked around the park like a man possessed meant that Commons sat out Sunday’s 4-0 hammering of cup finalists Motherwell.

Sitting in the stand or out on the pitch Commons admits that the Celtic support makes every game a spectacular occasion.

He told the Celtic View: “Scoring wise Kilmarnock away a few weeks ago was one of my best goals but occasion wise scoring against Rangers in our 3-0 win was the best.

“It was one of the greatest occasions I’ve ever played in.

“You’ve got the best part of 60,000 fans turning their back and doing the huddle. You dream about being part of something like that so it was quite spectacular to see.

“They did it again against Hearts and I kept looking over. I had to concentrate on the game but I kept wishing that the referee would blow his whistle and stop play so that I could gaze up and take everything in. It’s quite a special thing to see.”
