  1. It’s never good to see one of our own players injured, but the body can only go for so long without a break. The good news for us is he’ll be getting that break on Honduras’ time.

It’s rumoured today Newcastle are considering a bid for Emilio. The same Newcastle that ridiculed the standard of football in the SPL? Can’t possibly be.

  2. On a personal level for Izzy it is hugely disapponting and bad news for Honduras and their chances of winning the Gold Cup will decrease because of Emilio’s talent will not be available to them.

However, I can’t help but say this is a good thing for Celtic. A player who will be near fully rested for next season as well as wanting to continue playing at his best in order to remain part of the Honduras squad (we all know the fickle nature of international football) and more importantly his talents will be not seen by some of the world’s better talent scouts and will be more likely to stay with us.
