Henrik Larsson statue unveiled

|

Henrik Larsson newsA statue in honour of legendary Celtic striker Henrik Larsson was unveiled today in Helsingborg.

Oskar Akerstrom and his brother Carl were the inspirations and driving forces for the statue with Oskar disappointed that the King of Kings received only a bouquet of flowers following his last match for Helsingborg.

Turning to facebook to express his regret he quickly found himself with 11,000 members for his ‘We require a Henrik Larsson statue in Helsingborg’ group and from then the project was off and running.

The centre piece of Larsson’s career was seven magnificent seasons at Celtic where he scored 242 goals winning a unique place in the affections of the sport and establishing himself as one of the world’s greatest players.

After leaving Celtic in 2004 he went on to play for Barcelona and Manchester United, winning championships with both clubs and the Champions League for Barca in 2006.
