Jonathan Gould joins Perth Glory

Former Hoops keeper Jonathan Gould has joined Perth Glory as goalkeeping coach- just in time to face Celtic next Saturday.

Gould joined Celtic on a free from Bradford City 14 years ago and went on to become one of Wim Jansen’s famous side that stopped ten-in-a-row.

The move for Gould further strengthens Perth Glory’s Scottish links with the club managed by former Ranger Ian Ferguson with Stuart Munro and Dave Mitchell already on the backroom staff.

Before the move Gould had spent the previous two seasons as assistant manager at Wellington Phoenix as well as coaching goalkeepers for the New Zealand FA.

Gould will work with Glory first team keepers Danny Vukovic and Neil Young as well as the clubs network of community coaches.

After arriving to compete with Gordon Marshall, Gould quickly took over a first choice keeper and ended his first season at Celtic by making it into the Scotland World Cup squad in France.

He made 157 appearances for Celtic before leaving in January 2003 to sign for Craig Brown at Preston North End.
