Hearts chief slates media monkeys!

Hearts owner Vladimir Romanov has blasted the ‘squeals of media monkey’ for their reaction to the sacking of Jim Jefferies and Billy Brown.

Romanov axed his management team on Monday three games into the season with Paolo Sergio in charge for tonight’s Europa League qualifier with Paks.

Jefferies steered Hearts to a credible 1-1 draw in the first leg in Hungary and has had almost universal sympathy since being shown the door by the club’s outspoken Lithuanian owner.

Using the club website to address his critics Romonov said: “Judging by the pre-planned squeals the media monkeys are making, Hearts has hit the point with the move. I believe that with only one competitive win in 15 games, only fools and idiots would not raise questions and suspicions.

“I now understand why Scotland is in 61st place in FIFA rankings behind such poor football countries like Lithuania, Albania and Gabon.”
