Owen Coyle joins Celtic for a day

Owen Coyle will join Celtic for tonight’s Lengend’s match against Manchester United.

The Bolton boss was linked with a move to Celtic at various times throughout his playing career and was strongly tipped to replace Gordon Strachan as Celtic manager.

A host of greats from the world of football and showbiz will turn out in the match with the Gorbals born Irish internationalist looking forward to the occasion.

He told TalkSport: “I’ve been asked up to the legends match and can’t wait to get involved.

“It’s fantastic of Celtic and John Kennedy to put this game on for the East Africa Famine Appeal and I’m sure there will be a big crowd at the match.”

Coyle will join the Celtic legends side made up of many of the 2003 UEFA Cup final side plus celebrities such as Nicky Byrne from Westlife and boxers Nigel Benn and Steve ‘Celtic Warrior’ Collins.

Celtic will be managed by Martin O’Neill with Strachan taking charge of the United team which will include Roy Keane, Teddy Sherringham and Dwight Yorke.
