Greig SpenceLoan Celt Greig Spence netted on his Hamilton debut as the Accies beat Morton 2-1 to reach the last four of the Ramsdens Cup.

Spence missed the majority of last season through injury but hasn’t stopped scoring since his return in April and waited just 18 minutes to find the net on his Hamilton debut.

Livingston, Annan and Falkirk join Hamilton in the semi-final draw with Billy Reid delighted by the contribution of his loan signing.

The Hamilton boss said: “Greig was terrific for us today. It was a great first start for him and he could have scored three or four.

“He’s exactly what I wanted to bring to the club- a penalty-box player with a bit of quality.

“We could have put the tie to bed earlier, but I don’t think there’s any doubt we deserved the win.”

Hamilton are currently sitting at the top of Division One with eight points from four matches and travel to face Queen of the South on Saturday.
